RCSA & MOSH Bring Science Alive
RIVER CITY SCIENCE ACADEMY in partnership with the MUSEUM OF SCIENCE AND HISTORY bring the 2nd grade study of the human body with an interdisciplinary unit grounded in science and supported by real artifacts!
The 6 day unit was busy and full-filling as students experienced a visit to their classroom by MOSH's "No Bones" traveling exhibit; 2 days at the museum where they completed a scavenger hunt using their observation and discovery skills and created a "Flippy Floppy" complete with bones, organs, arteries, and clothes representing a variety of cultures.

Parent Volunteer Organization
RCSA Lower School needs YOU 
to help set the foundation and build the River City Science Academy community. There will be a town hall meeting for the PVO in late May. Time to be posted soon.
We encourage you to come and listen to the ideas, events and structure of the Lower School PVO. Being a member DOES not mean you attend meetings! Below are some of the areas that we request our parents and PVO members join the team.
* Homeroom mom (preferably 2 per HR)
* Field Trip Chaperone
* Volunteering at school events such as the Fall Festival, Walk-a-thon, International Night, Spagetti Dinner, Class Parties, Monthly student awards assembly and more.

RCSA connect is an online tool where you can track your child's academic progress at school.
2:40 Club
Lower school students may participate in clubs, activities, tutoring or all of them. Tutoring and club schedules will be posted in September.
* Tutoring is free and offered by all teachers usually once a week
* Clubs are offered on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. Clubs are free to join, BUT some have small fees for supplies.
Sample of club offerings:
Chess club, Book club, Boys Sports, Cooking, Environment, Audio/Visual, Math, Science Olympiad, Sign Language, Newspaper/Creative Writing Club, Band or Choir
